G'day. Your second picture was very interesting to me. My father used to pull 2 of those in tandem, an 8 disc like in the picture, and an 7 disc behind his D6 9U in the late 50's early 60's working up mallee scrub after it had been chained and burned in the upper SE of South Australia.

magic stuff- back in the glory days of Australian agrigculture!
Very Interesting Paul . I worked with this Gear back in the late 50's and early Sixties . Australians designed and Built the stump jump Mechanism and we exported them overseas in Ship loads . Those majestic ploughs could plough just about anything [Rough ] The Mallee Scrubs had a Large but Shallow Stump under the Ground and the Majestic Would get them out no problems without getting smashed to Pieces .6 to 8 discs suited D2 and D4 and tandem units were matched to D7 and TD 18's in my area. Shearer actually made some 10 Disc as Well .
Horward Bagshaw were based out of Adelaide S.A. and I seem to recall had the largest Foundry in the Southern Hemisphere. They made a full range of farm Equipment including Grain Harvesters . Pull type in early days and later Self propelled We ran Bagshaw's for over 20 years . They would eat a John Deere for capacity in a similar Size.
If memory serves me correct HB were the 5th oldest registered manufacture in the world and I think Ransome, Sims and Jefferies in England are No1 [ Now owned by Toro ]. Thanks Paul Keep them Coming !! LJ
