I am looking for any info on this cat 20 planer or other planers cat or Russell . I haven't come across any pics or info on this implement before and didn't know of any cat planers produced . This one will need lots of work and some parts to be complete and operable .

Moulding, I wonder if that gadget is one that made use of the dual PTO that I've seen in parts books - it has two shafts coming out the back and I guess could power the two controls on that planer?

Thanks it was found on the bb and posted by u-joint . Maybe if Im lucky I can find a parts book or early advertising for it . I think this planer is controlled by two wheels mounted on the rear of the tractor but possibly could be optioned for dual pto . Anyone know of a side seat L , PL twenty with a dual pto for me to team it up with😆 . Hopefully we can find the missing parts or match them up with something a little more common . How many sizes of planers did cat produce ?
Thank you Erick , you are a big help !

to my knowledge caterpillar only had the 20 planer which of course was pulled by a twenty!
Russell made a planer as well but when cat took over in 1928 the motor patrol and early motor grader replaced the planer.

Hi Team,
I have a blue covered Twenty Planer Parts Book here (Not For Sale) :- Form No P-627 (2500-4-31) do not know what the numbers in the brackets are but may be Russell?

It covers machine numbers N-1 to N-310 Incl. The N-310 Incl. is printed with a rubber ink stamp.

Cat often allocated Serial Number blocks for machines, but often did not actually build that many.
Cheers,
Eddie B.
