This post is to gage how much interest there is in having the brass ID tags made for your old gas cat. After a conversation with a couple of friends about brass tags it was decided to see if there was enough interest to make a batch of brass tags for all makes of gas cats. The Cat Cave would be having the tags made to blue print specs. I think everyone is aware of the high quality and workmanship done in the Cat Cave. If you are interested you can contact me or post your interest here and I will be making a list. No price can be quoted until the number of tags is compiled. - Wally

The same question is being asked in Australia right now, a good buddy of Catmans here in Oz phoned me today about this topic, when I contacted Vintage Brass Tags in England last year it became apparent that significant discounts in the price could be achieved if the brass tags could be purchased in bulk lots, like 5 or more would be nearly 50% cheaper than just one, the challenge was having either original brass plates, or photo's of them, to be used as templates, but it sounds like Byron was aiming to get the blue prints from Cat.

I think Byron should make 200 of the Ensign carburetors to suit the Ten and Fifteen while he is at it, seems everyone is looking for those at a fair price, I know I need about 6 of them, plus the spark plug covers for the 22 would be another good product, plus the old style Sylphon oil pressure gauges, 1,000 of those could be sold without too much drama I'd think.
regards
Mike.

I have had brass plates made for Cat Ten's by "Vintage brass plates" in the UK,
His workmanship is first class and he had my original plates to copy.

Jeff has some, his are printed/painted not etched or engraved like some, there is a wide variety in the OEM tags. It would be very difficult to make repo tags to match everything.

That being said I need a few my self, I hope they go with the etched/engraved type.

I can assure you if the project goes forward they will be an exact duplicate of the original. -

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
