I stumbled across this injection test setup and need an electric motor and gear reduction box. The pump needs to be turned at 125 rpm.

See pictures.

Thanks,

John

Thanks Old Magnet,

I was hoping someone had a machine that had the electric motor and no injection stuff, so I could make a complete one from both. I also got a bunch of adapters for various injectors including one to test the capsule type.

The "Instructions for Caterpillar Diesel Fuel Injection Test Apparatus"
Form #11238-3 has all the info on the test end, but nothing on the motor other than gear head type.

I believe Bill Walter on here has the test unit and may be able to help with the motor identification.

John,

I have a 3 phase, 240 volt, 1 hp motor with gear reduction that probably turns close to that rpm. You need to make a Visalia trip. I will take a pic tomorrow. G

I think they used a bodine gearmotor, the lovely black enameled units.

Here is the motor I have. I test ran this several months ago and if my senior memory serves me well, it was around 140 rpm at the first gear reduction. G

Gary,

I am not sure that motor is big enough. How many HP is that? I see it is sitting in my bay in my new shop. 😊

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
