New Caterpillar Twenty Logging Special Model Project

explanation of the footbrakes:
the footbrakes on the winch are the brakes for the winch drums itself , so if you use it as a lifting device like a hoisting crane you could pull on the lever for the winch you want to turn and the cable pulled something up till it was at desires hight, then press the footbrake and hold the load otherwise the load would fall down by gravity.
this winch was a usefull tool in logging wood and other applications.

also the tractor was positioned in a place and tracks on the handbrake and then the hoisting or pulling was done.
offcourse they could use the winch to pull the tractor if it was stuck in place in mud.

Replied by edb on topic Amazing Details
Hi Calvin,
cannot believe my eyes at the detail you are getting.
I usually see weathering on railway cars etc as paint stains--you bring a new dimension to the art.
Well Done Mate.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Thank you marcoten for the pictures and Eddie for the kind words. They are very appreciated!

I added two levers/foot brakes as requested, grassy earth to the tracks, grass pieces to the front grill area, put the leather crank holder back in and popped a "tin can" over the exhaust. I also put two sticks on the tracks to hold up the engine doors to cool'r down after a hard day's work!

And yet I still have more to do... :)

The belt pulley seems easy in comparison to the Hyster winch and a good start. Are you requesting I weather a Twenty Two with the belt pulley or do you want one for your existing model?

I should be wrapped up with the Twenty tomorrow. I'll post final pictures by tomorrow evening. Everyone has been a tremendous help with this project and your feedback has been wonderful. Thank you! And moderators - thank you for not kicking me out! :)

if you are going to make a belt pulley i would want one seperate one to add to my 22 model here, but mabe you have other ideas to make an extra for the 22 model??
indeed is quit simple compared to the winch. mabe you can come up with something more difficult,
can you please post pictures of your other cats and crawlers you have weathered please as i can only see the d9 on your site, but on your for sale list there is a r2 and d2 aswell.

Marcoten - I'll see about making that attachment in the coming days. I have your email address so I'll reach out to you.

I'm just taking my lunch break and wanted to post the final pictures of the weathered Norscot Caterpillar Twenty. She's done, done and done!

...and for sale if anyone wants it...contact me to inquire :)

When I get my hands on another Cat model I'll be sure to show the entire weathering process of that one too.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!

I'll second Marco's comments. This is simply amazing.

I believe there are some Ten models floating around out there. What would it take to model the Ten and potato planter?

Since we have the prototype, photos and details would be easy to obtain.

Might make a good Christmas present for Garlic Mom.

Pete.
