Greetings from Brazil.
My 1953 D2 pony engine was running fine after mag check up (Bosch - w/new carbons / condenser w/good spark). I have intermitent killed it about 5 times using the kill switch wire that was not connected to the external post, by touching it on the post and then let the engine run again (engine did not completly stopped when I "killed") , because I wanted it run again. There was a spark between the wire and the post every time I atempt to kill.
The last time the engine stopped even without the ground touching the post. Then I tryi to run it again using the hope and nothing. Check the spark plug and I have no spark in any side now.
I see many guys killing the engine with a ground wire in the coil external poist and thought this would not harm the coil/condenser. Was I wrong?
thanks for help

That's what that terminal on the side is for. You're just grounding the coil the same as the points do, so in my opinion, that doesnt have anything to do with what happened. I would take cap off and check things out inside. See if it's still timed up, rotating correctly etc. These have been known to break a shaft when the pony flywheel is loose for some reason.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Thank you!, that is a relief. I thought it might have damaged the coil. I will check everything. Last night was too late to start everything. I have just installed the carb and mag and the pony ran for the first time in ~14 year...
