Hello!

I'm new here on this forum, my name is Rickard, comes from Sweden and have a big interest for old machinery.

My recent project is an old Cat D7 17a with serial 3945, I think it's a 1956??
will try to upload some pics of it later!

I have problems finding parts for it here in Sweden, it' the idler wheel that neds to be replaced. Seems hard to find a used part so I gues i need to buy a new one..
Talked to a dealer, he could fix a idler wheel for a D7e, but i guess that will not fit? Anyone knows?

Did Caterpillar use this part on other models than 17a. I think the idler assembly have part# 5f6608

Anyone know how to find parts nowdays?

Hope you understand my spelling and really happy for all response!

BR Rickard

Is it just the idler wheel you are looking for or the complete idler mounting group?

What exactly is wrong with the one you have?

Hi, V8Rickard,
Welcome to the forum.

I would suggest making the effort to post some photos of your idler as that will help those with answers to better understand what your problem(s) is/are.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
