Hi All,

Could this be CAT's early design of the crawler loader?? It has matching engine and trans group numbers. 7U937, has 5 rollers on the bottom and the one carrier on top, with loader pads and the drawbar with pto cover. Says D4 on the radiator. Any ideas, thanks, John

That is Tracksom HT4 Traxcavator Shovel they were mounted on a 5 roller 7U D4 with solid front idlers looks like the hardnose grill is gone but thats standard Caterpillar iussue from late 40s early 50s

Thanks Willie, I think the hard nose was laying to the side somewhere. He had the timing gear cover welded up. So this is a cat made thing? Are they rare? That loader is massive especially the arms. They weighed it and it weighs 20,000#. I should be able to take the weights off the back and mount a winch there couldn't I? John

Trackson suppled the loader for ealy Cats you bought it all together at the Cat dealer I beleave Cat bought them out as they did Russel, Barbergreen and others it weighs 18,000 complete . Not that rare some still is use today, most have trashed undercarraige from turning alot and grinding uo gravel while turning some had rippers some had counter weights on rear
