Hello, I'am a french passionate of 641 651 657 A motorscraper .I would like know if it's possible to find in the USA a collector with this machine?
In France only one company have 651 serie 33G and 641 serie 64F and recently after much research I found by a friend Italian the big 657 and two other 651 in a quarry
Thank you
Back in the good old days we had the largest scraper fleet in a 3-4 state area.We ran mostly TS-24's,657's,631's.Then came the days of underbidding just to say you had a job.We changed over to useing 992's and 773's trucks, then we went to the 5110 and 773's.There was one contractor up in ne pa that ran nothing but 657's.His only problem was he didn't know what maintenance was,he'ld run his stuff until it stopped. If he had a job that needed 10 657's he move in around 18-20 of them just to keep the 10 going.
Hello Hicrop 10,
Today there still much contractor with 657 A for working in the USA ?
What's that engine in the tractor unit? Looks like some kind of V8?
Cheers,
Neil
Front engine was a cat 346 V-8 engine

Those underbidding days are in full force these past years...my prediction is that there will be a stream of work in coming years to fix the projects that were put in for lowest price. A lot of responsibility goes to the project owners that have thought they were really getting a good deal putting excavators over the barrel working up 'competitive' bids.
How true Bernie, couldn't agree anymore.Back here in eastern Pa there a contractor that if your a subcontractor for him it takes 180 days to get your money, from what I've been told. How can you work like that.We don't have that problem we gave it all up back in 07 right before it turned south. All of our equipment was all paid for had no bills, wouldn't work for nothing, and the list goes on,me and my two brothers decided that we had enough so we got out of it all togather.Would love to be back moving dirt but won't do it for nothing then have to fight to get paid the little you bid the job for.Hell after the GC,owner get done cutting your balls off you you might as well have done the job for free.
