I took my tractors to the North Texas Tractor Show in Lindsay this weekend. Had a great time and met a lot of nice people. The D8 was a big hit sitting next to the Ten. Here are some photos just click on the slide show.

mgood,
No, I never could find anything on the web. I was looking for the billing but it wasn't posted. I joined the club which is the Cooke County Antique Tractor and Farm Machinery Club. I gave them my name and address and asked if I would get a email when the meetings were but they said that they do everything by mail so I take it there not to high tech. The show is in Lindsay Texas which is 3 miles west of Gainesville on 82 and then a little north on FM1199. It was the 22nd annual and next years show will be Aug. 30 & 31. The show is better on Saturday and I guess there was close to a hundred tractors and equipment. Do you go to the show in Sulpher OK? I went last year for the first time and it was a good show. I searched and see this years show is 15-17th of this month.

I'll try again to post; am having a lot of log off trouble. No Sir i wasn't able to make Lindsey; so far the only one i have had time for is Pawnee last spring. As soon as i got home i was hit by a rush of work; am currently working over some Allis Strippers for the fall cotton harvest. Am going to try to hit Fairview in Sept. The directions You have given are very good , even this crazy Okie can find Your club grounds. Is there a strong following of Caterpillar there?

The show is all farm tractors. I thought that my tractors would be the only track machines but a young man that lives close to the show along with his brother brought a R4 and a RD4 they are real nice kids they brought lots of tractors, plows, a corn picker, combine they just roaded them to the show. Its nice to see some younger people interested in our hobby. Have you ever gone to the sulpher show?

Yes Sir; its been a while back though; it was a pretty good show then. I sure am glad to hear about those youngsters being active; They are what keeps it going; no matter what flavor a person prefers. Some of the fellows and i discussed forming a Cat club here in Okla. Most of us either raise cattle farm or work on equipment, and we are scattered from all over Okla. bout the only way we will be able to start one up is affiliate ourselves with an established club until we can grow enough to become independent. Its hard for us to depend on being able to make meetings if the club is 100 or more miles off. Hope one of these days to bring something Your way. Bet that D8 was the highlight of the show.

Tom,
What's the background to the steering lever modification on the tractor?

Do you know anything about the tractors previous history?

A friend in the UK, undertook a similar conversion on a D6 9U.
