Pictures of an Old Cat 12 Motor Grader

I was pulling off some old vintage parts from several old trucks that belong to a friend of mine and found an old Cat 12 Blade parked up a canyon. The tenant on the property said it ran well a few years ago when it was parked, but the differential leaked oil. Is that a tough fix. My experience tells me if a seal leaks it was most likely caused by a worn out bearing or two... I took a close up picture of a serial number plate from an equipment rental/construction company located on the front main frame. Is this a normal tag to be located there? The Cat serial number plate is buried behind the pony magneto. I slipped my phone in and got a decent picture. Is an 8T a reliable blade? I have an interest in buying it if the price is right and the repair issues aren't too great.

That is a early 1951 year, 6551-9000. catskinner

I have a 1942 No 12 with 7K hours on the meter I just got it about a month ago I have all ready put it to the test the other day and ran it solid for 6 hours and graded a mile long road with it this was after I changed all the oil and filters on the thing. I am not sure if you already purchased this or not but if you have any question let me know. I certainly am not a pro but might have a bit to offer after just going through buying a similar item

Thanks for the offer jw74. I haven't purchased it yet. I'm kinda in a hold pattern waiting to see if I have a lot of use for a blade coming up after the first of the year.
