Nice load. I also enjoyed watching the trailer with the self steering back axles make the corners. You just do not see them like that around here. Thanks for sharing.

Old Iron, I wish I had taken a video of the self-steering three-axle semi that used to get around when I was logging. The jinker was like a regular three axle full trailer, with the front axle on a steering turntable, much like the ones that we used to use under long logs. However, instead of the logs drawing the trailer (and essentially being the "flat deck" of the trailer), the flat deck draws the trailer like a regular semi. The steering for the front axle was connected to the deck, so that the rig swung around the corner, the trailer would lag on turning, so that it tracked a wider turn. It was excellent for winding narrow logging tracks.
Cheers,
Neil

The CHP would love to see a rig like that heading down I-5. I don't think the ramps in there present position would be legal in California.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
