We're leaving this Sunday the 19th after church and heading for Vegas. The plan is to take as many back roads as possible in the KW 👍. We hope to be in Belle Plaine, KS late Thursday or Friday for the annual Fling Memorial weekend. Soapy and B Boaz are meeting us there, afterwards were all heading up to Peoria for the Cat tour and other activities.

After visiting Peoria, Red and I (maybe Soapy too) are trucking North to Fargo ND. Possibly stopping and visiting old iron in MN. While in ND I was going to visit the oilfields while keeping new opportunities in mind. After that cut across to Seeley Lake MT to visit my mother. Then head south on the Luis and Clark trail, Hwy 12.

When I get the KW is all loaded up I'll post a couple pictures. Of course they won't be like Pop's pictures with the truck in the back ground. :boink:

It's going to be a great trip. If were passing by any of you please reply and maybe we can stop and visit. 661-331-2996 Mike

Hey Mike,
We hope you and Red can make it over this way when you are passing by. I assume you are bringing your motorcycle. Debby and I both ride. I'm sure Toby will chime in and we can go see his and Ted's toys. It's a nice backroads motorcycle ride from here to his place. If you really want to test the Kenworth I am going down this Sunday to try to fire up that DW 20 just south of St. Louis. I think you would be a bit overweight though with it on your back.

Mike guess I will go to fling early, because your back road thing doesn't include Amarillo.

See you and Red at Belle Plaine.

Hey Mike, if you end up in my area then please feel free to stop in, old-iron-habit knows the way over here.:car: Between old-iron-habit, myself, and Ted (my dad), there's not many others close by that are into old Cats so anybody that has time to stop and likes to talk Yellow is welcome anytime.👍

All loaded up and were heading out tomorrow afternoon. Sure looking forward to hitting the road. Going to be lots of fun taking back roads with plenty of time to get to KS. Here is a picture of Big Red all ready. The steer axle weights 9K, drivers 32K, trailer 11K. It's just enough load to make it fun to drive and with the trailer mounted on the tail it tracks pretty good in tight areas. We will be posting our progress as we travel.

Old Iron, were planning on coming by your house after Peoria. You got room for my truck and trailer? It's 66' long. Yes the motorcycle is packed on the truck too. Hope your OK that I sold the Harley and now riding a nice quite Goldwing 👍 .

Toby, if thing work out it would be nice to stop by.

What's Ferdies?

Mike,

For the trip you might want to turn the exhaust flapper on the Mighty D4 around. I've hauled my own stuff and have seen the flapper blown open on not only my critters but other hauled loads at highway speeds. You knowyou're going to find some rain along the way and I'd doubt you really want it going down the stack.

Man, that looks good Mike. Matching flames painted on the front of the Gold Wing? I showed my wife and she would have swapped out the bike for a Mini .... ah, it's hard finding the perfect woman.
Do you have some nice Bostroms in the cab and decent air? What's the running gear on the truck (engine/gearbox/rears I'd guess are 38s - air ride?)
Cheers,
Neil
