Hi summer is coming to a end and the light is fading so have more time to post pics. My father served his time with gough gough & hammer here in New Zealand so have some interesting pics.
The picture of this air craft was taken at the Milson air field Palmerston North which was a branch that covered a wide area. We have a picture of the same plane on the beach of the west coast of the South Island with my grandfather standing beside it which meant the plane traveled all around New Zealand. As far as we know cat never owned the air craft but it flew parts with the mail service ( I don't thick a D8 crank shaft would be on the order list ) there has been research done on the air craft but very little information has turned up. Year of the picture is unknown I just thought you my find it interesting that cat was in to this. Did it happen any where else in the world?
Thanks for looking.

Waugh & Josephson the NSW (Australia) Caterpillar dealer used to have a Beachcraft Barron plane i think it was in the late 70,s through the 80,s. Pretty sure Wigmores in West Australia also had planes at there disposal. No better way to get parts to remote locations in a hurry.

G'day I worked for Cavpower (Cat dealer covering all South Australia and Broken Hill) in the 80's and 90's and it's owner also owned an air charter service that had atleast a beechcraft Queenair that may have been used for parts on the odd occasion as it was used ocassionly to move serviceman, not me but I certainly went to jobs a few times on commercial regional flights and I met them a few times to pick up parts. I also worked FIFO in Moomba and was flown about the oil and gas feilds a couple times in planes and helicopter when it flooded in approx 89-90

Nice aircraft photo. The ship Looks to be a DeHavilland, 1920 ish. See if you can locate what happened to it.

Hi interesting that you have identified the air craft we think the two pictures are taken around the mid 30's.
We know that it is not a tiger moth, history of the plane has been done and well it just disappeared no log of a crash.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
