There are several threads that have circulated over the last month or so regarding the auction. If I am not mistaken, there are probably a lot of ACMOC members en-route as I type this response. I'm hoping the weather holds for the event. High of 75 with a 40% chance of showers.

Living within a few miles of the sale, I can report the weather is supposed to be excellent for the sale.

Just looked at the auction results on RB site. Anyone that thinks that old cat is off needs to take a look.
Looks to me like prices held pretty good.

I secord that jm.watkins.For the most part I think the prices were on the high side. The motor graders and pull graders are what they are, those prices reflected what those machines are worth. Now with the tractors that another story.Just picking some off the top of my head, the D9e sold rather on the soft side considering the tracks it had on it,they were close to being new. That in it self paid for the tractor. The three that really caught me by surprize were the Cat 10's.The 2 std. one brought $12,000 & $15,000 and I don't know if either one ran.The hi 10 brought $19,000 and again I didn't hear it run.I will be rethinking what my small collection is worth. The whole sale took in around $650,000 I think.Just my dimes worth of thinking.MikeD

I think you guys should try and sell your machines for what the crawlers sold for today and see what happens. I was there for 2 days and all I can say is wow, most of the people there were not your average collectors , they were mostly big contractors with money to burn. Richie brothers mostly sells machines to contractors so it was like the perfect storm, people were landing in helicopters to buy cats. When you normally spend a few hundred thousand at a sale 15,000 for a ten is cheap , or for that matter 29,000 for a diesel fifty is a real bargain. There were only about 30 guys who were there the day before and really looked the machines over, drove them and cared about what they were actually wanting to buy.

I totaled about $863,000 for the whole auction Mike. I listened in on line. About 2hrs 10mins for all lots. The regular Ten's were 15K and 18K if I'm not mistaken. I was surprised the 7C15 only brought $11,500.

Was the D17000 bought by a non-scrapper? Pretty low serial # on that one.
Cheers,
Neil.

The 7 c had a ten motor in it because the 168 serial # engine was laying with the patrs ten in the parts tractor row. Jason
