Rodger the Dachshund and I did some logging with the D2 this afternoon.

It was the perfect day to drag some fallen trees from the woods.

These will be used for back yard campfires.

If I mention “bulldozer ride” to Rodger he becomes frantic and wants to go for a ride!

Here are a few pictures.

Rodger is in the special seat on the right side.

It was below freezing so we didn’t get the D2 all mudded up.

The D2 started easy and ran great!

Enjoy!

That should keep you in firewood for a while!

Do you ever loose traction because of the blocks on the pads?
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Thats quite the "Armor Plating" Rodger has!
I see the pads on the tracks are starting to look worn, but still holding up good.
Is that the "Grab" hook wrapped around those trees or a larger "Slip" hook so it would tighten as you pull on it?
We did some tree trimming last weekend at 10 degrees. Drove the tractor out on the ice of the pond where it was froze to the bottom. Hooked onto some big willow limbs that a storm blew into the pond.
Wifey was so mad she wouldn't photo it as it was destroying the Turtle habitat in her opinion! (they crawled up on the limbs to bask in the sun)

Bill, nice looking D2. I can see that Roger is master of his domain. Dogs are my favorite people. Ray

Yes, Rodger loves riding on the D2.

Back in the fall Rodger was in the house and heard the pony motor start – he became frantic and ran from door to door looking to looking to get out.

Someone finally left him out and he ran for where the D2 was running – Rodger wanted his RIDE.

Those custom “street pads” I made work fantastic.

I have seldom had a problem with needing more traction.

That machine will roll dirt up over the top of the blade – which I do every year at Rough & Tumble digging events.

Good fun... I look forward to doing some similar work when our D2 is back together, we had more than 40 trees knocked down in a freak storm last summer, the ranch is a mess.
