"I need some replacement knobs as mine are coming apart. When they do it leaves a metal sleave on the control lever
Does this screw off? " Yes is is a N.F. thread, use a 3/4" wrench, you may need to heat it up a little esp if the grader did not have a cab.
"Is there a place to get knobs other than Cat " Yes you could try Florin tractor parts
"and would Cat even stock these? Thanks. LB " Yes they do, I think OL829 may be the right part
Last I got were from Cat and they were around $11 ea. same part number from when they started Cat Inc with the L829 as a 20 part in 1925 they have now added a diget or 2 in front of it. I dont think they make the hex one anymore youhave to get 2 smooth ones
You're right Willie, everybody I know that needed the hex ones had to modify the new round ones to make the hex shape. Usually a belt sander set up with a fine grit belt does the job well.
If you don't have any luck @ Cat, I got mine from REID supply.
Regards Dennie
I have bought from Florin before and they do a great job. Very good on price and reasonable shipping. LB
