The restoration is finished for the D3400 Gen Set, S/N 3S8072, model year 1947, 1200 RPM/15 KW rating. Today it was delivered to the new Caterpillar Visitors Center in Peoria, IL which opens October 20th.

Wonderful photos of an excellent restoration job. Kent is a stickler for details! Thanks so much for posting the photos. Most enjoyable.

I saw one just like it, unrestored, in Dennis Poggensee's steel building this afternoon. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have in times when the electricity is out for days at a time! My neighbors, however, would not be pleased.
